Bracketology 3/4/18

Packed day of hoops throughout the bracket today- bubble teams I have my eye on include Texas (at home against West Virginia), Marquette (at home against Creighton) and Syracuse (at home against Clemson). All of those are winnable, big upside games that could help move each team into the field. Lots of action around the bubble yesterday- Marquette, UCLA and Texas got big wins to move into the field, while Louisville, Baylor and Washington fell out. St. Mary's nearly took a catastrophic loss to Pepperdine but they advanced. And here at the Garden, Michigan got a huge win over Michigan State and Penn State's hopes went up at smoke against Purdue.

Well, in the unlikely event that there is an NCAA tournament, here's my projection for it. Stanford really hurt themselves with their loss to Cal, their SOR is almost unprecedentedly bad for an at-large team. Xavier made things really interesting with a loss to DePaul, they're my last team in. Bracketology 3/7/20

The biggest game of the day on Friday was Northern Iowa's loss to Drake in the Arch Madness quarterfinals. I have kept the Panthers as the last team in the field for now, but it's going to be a long wait for them until Selection Sunday. Most of their resume comparisons haven't made the tournament, although their NET remains solid. A massive day awaits today, with nearly every bubble team in action. The last quiet bubble day of conference tournament week is done, with six more bids punched. Robert Morris moves into the field for St. Francis PA after their win in the NEC title game. I was supposed to be heading to Madison Square Garden for the Big East tournament tomorrow and likely up to Cambridge for the Ivy League tournament this weekend.
