Bracketology 3/4/19
The biggest surprise of Sunday was in Chicago, where DePaul completed a season sweep of St. John's. The Red Storm close at Xavier on Saturday. A loss there combined with an early exit from the Big East tournament could be curtains for a team whose NET is now all the way down to 61. Out west, both Washington and Arizona State got narrow, but necessary, road wins at Stanford and Oregon State. Washington will be fine as long as they don't go 0-3 down the stretch, but Arizona State remains right on the nose of the bubble. I have them out simply because there isn't much precedent for teams with so many losses to non-tourney teams making the field, but I know that's a minority opinion right now. I think the Sun Devils need at least two more wins.
Tonight, conference tournament action kicks off with the Atlantic Sun quarterfinals. Lipscomb should cruise through their home game against Kennesaw State. In the Big 12, TCU could go a long way towards punching their bid against Kansas State and Texas could lock up their bid in Lubbock.
