Bracketology 3/9/16

1) The only real surprise in last night's results was Farleigh Dickinson's victory over Wagner- FDU was a big underdog @Wagner, who had dominated the NEC this year. 

 2) Gonzaga got a crucial win over St. Mary's and is going dancing again. I feel pretty good about the Gaels' at-large chances- even though I have them in the First Four right now, I still have them as my sixth team in (they're above the other 3 First Four teams, as well as Gonzaga and Temple). However, the Gonzaga win probably cost some bubble team their at-large bid- perhaps Connecticut, Temple or Tulsa.

 3) The better teams of the major conferences start playing tomorrow, and we have a big noon bubble battle between Syracuse and Pittsburgh. The Orange fell out of my bracket today, and Pitt is one spot away from the First Four right now.

Well, in the unlikely event that there is an NCAA tournament, here's my projection for it. Stanford really hurt themselves with their loss to Cal, their SOR is almost unprecedentedly bad for an at-large team. Xavier made things really interesting with a loss to DePaul, they're my last team in. Bracketology 3/7/20

The biggest game of the day on Friday was Northern Iowa's loss to Drake in the Arch Madness quarterfinals. I have kept the Panthers as the last team in the field for now, but it's going to be a long wait for them until Selection Sunday. Most of their resume comparisons haven't made the tournament, although their NET remains solid. A massive day awaits today, with nearly every bubble team in action. Bracketology 3/11/20

The last quiet bubble day of conference tournament week is done, with six more bids punched. Robert Morris moves into the field for St. Francis PA after their win in the NEC title game. I was supposed to be heading to Madison Square Garden for the Big East tournament tomorrow and likely up to Cambridge for the Ivy League tournament this weekend.
